Jacqueline's Restaurant
Peruvian tradition in Barcelona
Jaqueline’s Restaurant is located on La Bordetá Neighbourhood, in the South East of Barcelona. The place is at 15 Parcerisa Street. Close to Gran Via Av.
The restaurant is owned by a really lovely Peruvian family: Silver, the chef, and Jaqueline, mother, and assistant. They serve traditional and worldwide renowned Peruvian cuisine, such as ceviche, lomo saltado, patacones and ají de gallina.
The venue is a well-hidden treasure and a little difficult to find. But when you find it, it is amazing. It has lots of natural light and it is well decorated, focusing special attention to details such as flowers, plants, tables, tablecloths, and tableware.
Here I tried 3 different dishes. Starting with some fried patacones served with avocado salad. Patacones are made with a special type of green banana that is smashed and deep fried. Followed by the house burger called Latina Burger. This one has special Latin fresh cheese, avocado, egg, and quinoa. I ended up with just a bit ( couldn't fit anymore food) of Lomo Saltado, a typical Peruvian dish made from tender cow meat and served with tomatoes, rice, and patacones.
The overall quality of every little detail in this place was superb and mind-blowing. It’s a nice reminder of why Peruvian cuisine and chefs are so famous worldwide.
