Finding Nature in Banff Canada
A journey with HT contributor Simplywander
We celebrated our anniversary with a trip to Canada's Banff National Park. It was a photographer’s dream! Moraine Lake is one of the most popular destinations. If you're looking to take incredible photos, we suggest taking the ¼ mile Rockpile Trail up to this lookout point.
Lake Louise is absolutely stunning. The turquoise water, pine-covered slopes and bright red canoes are so photogenic. If you want to explore around the lake, you can rent a canoe for about $95/hour.
We took the Lake Agnes Tea House hike to this remote tea house at the top of the mountain. During the summer months, you can grab a cup of tea or indulge in a savory sandwich. The best view is a short walk around to the back of the lake. The 4.5-mile out and the back trail starts at Lake Louise.
Johnston Canyon is not for those afraid of heights. It offers a stunning hike along a steel catwalk attached to the canyon wall. The scenic trail leads to several different waterfalls.
