BROWSING THE COBBLE STREETS

Paros, Greece.

Naousa coastal promenade.

Naousa or Naoussa is a small village on the northern coast of Paros. Despite attracting lots of tourists during the warmer months, just like any other place in Greece, I still felt that this fishing town kept more authenticity than others.

Main entrance to the village. Main entrance to the village.

Cute bar outdoor seating. Cute bar outdoor seating.

I obviously didn’t visit during the high season and loved to see so few tourists and a large amount of locals. What I found out later that day having a drink at some little bar in the cutest narrow streets, is that the village is a popular destination of Athenians and because of this, restaurants serve high quality food at much more reasonable prices than you’d find elsewhere. And bars too! Where else can you have 2 Aperol Spritz for 7€??

Affordable Italian aperitif. Affordable Italian aperitif.

Sunset drinks. Sunset drinks.

The town reminds of a smaller Mykonos, with its whitewashed buildings and picture perfect promenade. What is very characteristic, is the amount of octopus you see hanging everywhere to dry! If you happen to be in Paros, or in Greece anyway, you shouldn’t miss a gastro-visit to Naousa ;)
