Dipping Crystals and the Dog
Boqueron Beach
The shores of Cabo Rojo are home to more than just a few beautiful beaches, all within twenty minutes of one another. Of these, probably the most well known is Boqueron. And for good reason. Its golden shore boasts ample space for swimmers and sunbathers alike, even on the most crowded days. Palm trees speckle the dunes, providing ample shade as boats cruise in the distance. After a rough trip from New York, this is exactly what the three of us needed.
The three of us are me, my partner Sarah, and our beloved pitbull Georgia. She had the roughest trip of all, stuffed into a crate for hours on a cargo plane. Once we arrive on the southwest coast, we decide to let her stretch her legs on the beach. We decide on Boqueron because it is beautiful, close to our new home, and dog-friendly. There’s also plenty of activity and food carts on the boardwalk in case we get hungry.
We find a shady spot beneath a palm and let the dog off-leash. She immediately takes off sniffing everything in the immediate vicinity. As I toss a ball with her, Sarah unpacks the crystals we’ve brought. They were a going away present from a friend to ensure prosperity in this next chapter.
She told us to head to the beach once we got settled, that the crystals needed to be dipped in the saltwater of our new home. And so, the three of us dive into the azure waters, crystals in hand, to wash off the stress of big city living and welcome the good vibes. Dale.
