While staying at Isle of Palms we took a day trip out to Boone Hall Plantation. $24 per person, we came on a busy day but were still able to see the sites.

Beginning with a house tour, an authentically dress tour guide gave us the history of the home. It is still a working farm and residence. They have special events throughout the year but especially during the fall. There are multiple tour options and you can actually walk through slaves quarters that still stand. I have been to other plantations in the past answer this one made sure to discuss the torrid past of the plantation.
We also went on a wagon tour that highlighted the whole property. They make their own honey and you get to see all the crops they farm. The grounds are extremely well kept and beautiful.
