The Gardens by the Bay, shadowed by the world famous Marina Bay Sands hotel and complex, have become one of Singapore’s most famed attractions. In fact, it’s now one of the most popular things to do in Asia and for good reason.
Rivalling any gardens, greenhouses or botanical centres you’ve ever been to, Gardens by the Bay is a haven that suits all visitors. You don’t have to be green fingered or a plant enthusiast to make the most of the vast outdoor gardens, lake side board walk, creative conservatories or treetop walkway.
The most famous feature at Gardens by the Bay are the sky-high tree like structures (cleverly covering power cylinders!) that have become an iconic part of the Singapore skyline. Every night at 7:45pm they light up the sky in a fantastic twenty minute show, perfectly timed to music.
The Cloud Dome and Flower Forest house all manner of tropical plants, orchids and even a giant waterfall. The gardens are free to visit though the Cloud Forest and Flower Dome conservatories require an entrance ticket. The treetop walkway is a separate $8 (SGD) ticket.
