My Son Sanctuary, or My Son Holyland, was a sacred worship area built between the 4th and 14th centuries by the Champa Kingdom. Today, My Son consists of a cluster of abandoned and partially ruined Hindu temple towers in Quang Nam Province, central Vietnam. The temples were dedicated to the worship of Shiva, known locally by various names, with Bhadreshvara being the most common.
My Son is considered one of the most important Hindu temple complexes in Southeast Asia and holds a special place as Vietnam’s premier heritage site of its kind. It is often compared to other significant temple complexes in the region. In 1999, UNESCO recognized My Son as a world heritage site.
