Holistika Hotel

Once a quiet little Mexican fishing village, the town of Tulum in the state of Quintana Roo has evolved into a laid-back beach destination that has become the topic of many travel conversations. Located just one-and-a-half hours by car from Cancun International Airport, Tulum sees loads of visitors each year who come to enjoy its sunshine and sandy beaches.   

I came to Tulum this time (my millionth time) not for the parties as I usually do but to have a complete detox and reset and I was super impressed with this retreat in the middle of the jungle!

Holistika Tulum is a yoga retreat community center known as Holistika Tuluma bit off the beaten path that is the Tulum beachside. One of the few retreats that’s not located on the beach itself, Holistika is certainly a unique yoga and wellness center that will leave you feeling both charmed and restored. At this tucked-away refuge you’ll find morning sun worships, afternoon meditation sessions, and evening fire circles.

I stayed in the beehive (a shared room) with fellow yogis and travelers. This is NOT a hostel even though it may look and feel like one. at $40 a night I couldn't have been happy with the pristine, well-stocked and overall great accommodation of Holistika

They have a constant cleaning crew so even though the showers are shared it was always perfectly clean. I have stayed in hostels or shared spaces before and nothing was ever this tidy and nice :)

The Tierra has amazing lattes and very small bites for you to enjoy at a decent price. If you want a full meal though you will have to head off grounds.
