Lodging Downtown Nashville
If you’re coming to Nashville, you should plan to not drive much. One of my favorite spots to recommend is the JW Marriott on 8th Ave. It is a newer hotel with a lot of great amenities. It is also convenient because after a long night on Broadway you can walk back to the hotel instead of fighting for a taxi/ride share.
During my stay at the JW, I woke up and immediately ordered breakfast and coffee to my room: pancakes, avocado toast, and fresh fruit.
After that, I stayed in for a bit to relax before heading out to the pool deck for some much needed time in the sun and a drink.
I had a few drinks while I was up there, but the one that stood out to me the most was the “Lime in the Coconut” which was served in an actual coconut with its main ingredients being coconut water and rum. Being in the landlocked state, it really made me feel like I was in a tropical paradise even if it was only for a moment. After swimming for a bit, I headed back up to my room and set out to wander the city while the sun was still out.
Other notable mentions for the JW Marriott; it was 3 bars (including the one at the pool) and 2 restaurants on the property. Downstairs they have Stompin Grounds, which is a great spot for breakfast or lunch. They also have a full service cafe, if you need to grab a coffee before heading out in the city. The Cumberland Bar, also on the first floor, serves some food, beer, classic and signature cocktails. Additionally, it is a great place to meet other guests staying at the hotel. Lastly, Bourbon Steak on the 34th is unparalleled. I stopped up there in the early afternoon just as they opened to grab some cocktails and french fries to snack on before heading out to dinner. I’d recommend trying the Queen’s Park Swizzle, it's the perfect late afternoon/early evening drink.
It’s also worth it to mention that every staff member was so much more helpful than I could have imagined.
