Night Markets in Chiang Mai

A visit to Chiang Mai is incomplete without stopping by the night markets and street food vendors.

The Kalare Night Bazaar offers so much from food, art, souvenirs, photographs, and live music. When I arrived I got a fresh fruit smoothie and just walked around for about an hour to take some photos.

After that, I made my way back to the food section to get some dinner and listen to the live music and watch some native Thai dance performances. Deciding what I was going to have for dinner was so difficult because everything looked and smelled so good. Another perk of night markets/street food is how cheap everything was. Most noodle dishes were 60 baht, which is just about $2 usd.

Another night I went to a different night market, which was strictly food. This time I just walked by and tried a bunch of small dishes from different people and I did not have 1 bad thing. Everything was seasoned and cooked so well! The prices at this market were very similar to the previous one, so you could very easily try as much as you want and still not break the bank. This market is also where the famous “Cowboy Hat Lady” has her cart.

There was no better way to end my visit to this market than getting some mango sticky rice before getting a Tuk Tuk back to my hotel.
