Phi Phi Viewpoint
Situated off the coast of southern Thailand, The Phi Phi islands is a popular destination for tourists. There are no cars on the island, so to get anywhere you either have to walk/hike or take a boat taxi. The Phi Phi Islands are perfect for lounging on the beach, scuba dive, or adventure out on a long tail boat for the day. The island is also known for their Full Moon parties.
However, the most memorable part of my Phi Phi island visit was hiking to the popular lookout spot. Knowing that a lot of people do this hike for sunset, I got up at 430am and started hiking to catch the sunrise.
There are two routes one can take - the one I did was the longer and harder of the two options, but the hike is mostly paved roads and through very remote parts of the island where the locals live. I saw some wild monkeys and a lot of stray dogs, but they are all harmless.
The second route is supposed to be a lot quicker and easier; it is just a large stair set that goes right up to the top.
Once I got to the top, there were 3 other people up there enjoying the stunning view. It was extremely quiet and peaceful. Although I could not enjoy it because I went so early, there is a shop and a cafe that one could go to after they’ve hiked and taken in all of the views.
