Where to have coffee in Beijing

Our favourite coffee shops in Beijing

Voyage Coffee

Just around the corner from the crowds on Nanluoguxiang, at 80 Beiluoguxiang, is the cool little coffee shop, Voyage Coffee. A great spot to work in with good seating and wifi. The staff are really friendly and happy to talk through the different speciality coffee options available.

It happened to be a little busy when we got there in the afternoon and so we had to wait a few minutes to get a seat, but the coffee was worth it! I've heard from other reviews that it was totally empty when they visited so not necessarily a busy place to stop. I had a flat white and a delicious 'Cherry Red' pour over. An all around nice place to stop and enjoy some great coffee.

Maan Coffee

Korean-run Maan Coffee has 9 locations around Beijing. While it is a growing chain they’ve kept their relaxed and creative atmosphere with beautiful interiors that are unique to each shop (plus you have outlets under every table!). We sat beside bookshelf lined open brick walls, below vintage chandeliers, on studded leather armchairs.

They have some great specialty coffee on offer, brewed by their team of baristas that are trained in Maan’s Roasting Factory and Coffee School in Jiangfu. We ordered the 'Maan Coffee' which turned out to be black coffee in a giant mug. It kept us caffeinated for the rest of the day! Oh and waffles. You have to try the waffles!

Alba Cafe

A cool space in the middle of the touristic area (formerly e.a.t) popular for it’s English and American breakfast that they serve all day. Great food and great coffee that you can enjoy at their bar, in comfortable sofas or on their rooftop terrace.

A nice escape from the busy streets of Beijing. Plus they stay open until 2am, so it’s the perfect place to finish up after a long day of exploring the city!
