A Week in Muscat, Oman
Muscat, Oman
Middle of Last year I got the opportunity to shoot a project in Muscat, Oman.
Having never heard anything or known anyone to ever visit Oman I couldn’t have been more excited.
Taking a flight from NYC, layover in Istanbul, then direct to Muscat I landed in the middle of the night.
The next morning I woke up to one of the most incredible landscapes.
The ridged coastline of Oman is like none other!
Getting to drive around the country we got to explore many of the small towns home to fisherman and craftsman. The culture is very conservative and everyone we met was incredibly nice. So many people leading simple and meaningful lives.
On assignment, we got to explore much of the cost line by boat and occasionally grabbing an aerial perspective.
The waters are crystal blue with insane sea life. Turtles swimming around you while thousands of fish brush past your feet.
Near our hotel (Shangri-La) there is Oman's famous arch a good 20 meters out into the water. Waking up for an early morning swim we grabbed some epic shots just as the light passed through the tunnel.
On our last day in Oman, we woke up early to make our way to the Sultan Qaboos Grand Mosque. If you visit Oman you must visit here! The architecture is elegant, detailed, and extremely clean. Giving off the grandest of feelings while walking through its many arches. The entrance is free and it was defiantly a highlight of the trip.
For our short time here I was absolutely blown away by the culture and architecture of Oman. Ill be back as soon as possible!
