Malaga, Beach Bums

Playa de la Malagueta, Malaga

Málaga’s stunning coastline – or the “Costa del Sol” (Coast of the Sun) as it has become known – as one of the most famous stretches of sea and sand in the world. Its countless beaches offer everything – from the bling and glitz of Marbella, where renting a sunlounger can cost you hundreds of euros, to the charming fishing villages of Nerja and La Carihuela

We spent the day at Playa de la Malagueta where malagueños come to play. the Playa de la Malagueta is the city's main beach and is both sandy and close to the city centre. It stretches several kilometres east from the port and is punctuated with some select restaurants and chiringuitos (fish shacks).

The beach is just outside the town so it's just a simple walk to get there. This is ideal seeing as you don't have to rent a car or pay for a taxi. The walk on the way to the beach is iconic as well as you pass the Muelle Uno as well as the Georges Pompidou Centre.

the Pop-Up Pompidou is housed in El Cubo, a cuboid glass structure in Malaga port. It is an exhibition space housing over 80 works of art as well as featuring dance, film and the spoken word. the Pop-Up Pompidou is housed in El Cubo, a cuboid glass structure in Malaga port. Málaga city is a great holiday destination, whether you are looking for a city break or a week-long stay. People usually associate Málaga with warm weather, parties and amazing beaches but not many people realise it is also a shoppers paradise. You can shop the latest fashion trends or local goods like Andalucian olive oil.

It is impossible to miss Muelle Uno, a modern promenade lined with palm trees overlooking the famous port. This is the best place to tour by bike or just to walk through.

Muelle Uno offers super unique shopping with a great view of Málaga's historical centre as well as tons of busy bars and restaurants overflowing with young locals and tourists alike. On top of modern fashion you will find little market stalls with locals selling handcrafted products and gifts..
