Visiting Seoraksan National Park
A South Korean National Park
So after a few days in Seoul, we had to visit more of the country. So we booked a bus ticket for a city called Sokcho.
There is a famous natural park there. ( Seoraksan National Park )
Located in the northeast of Korea, Seoraksan Mountain reaches a height of 1,708 metres (5,604 ft)
We decided to climb to the mount Ulsanbawi peak, Ulsan Rock is 873m above sea level.
The hike was about 2 hours long. The climb is very rocky, but as you get closer steps start to appear. From there you can see miles in the distance.
We saw some restaurants before the climb and one of them was selling some pizza. So we said to each other that after this climb, we will reward ourselves with some pizza. What a motivation right? :)
When you start the climb you will see a massive statue of Buddha, called Sinheungsa.
Sinheungsa is located in Seoraksan National Park, and many tourists hiking Seoraksan up to Ulsanbawi (peak) pass by the temple on the way. Other temples with the name Sinheungsa are located in Seoul, Samcheok and Icheon.
After 2 hours of walking, we finally arrived at the top. The view was breathtaking. It was just a bit cloudy, but the landscape was still amazing.
Just one thing, don’t do the hike if you are scared of heights.
We finally went down without injuries, and got our pizza. It was well deserved and amazing after that rek :)
