Llandudno Beach
Cape Town, South Africa
The pristine Llandudno Beach sits between Hout Bay and Camps Bay, it’s 20kms south of the city, accessible by a narrow road through an exclusive neighborhood.
As Llandudno is rests next to the Atlantic Ocean, the water is relatively cold throughout the year. In summers it’s quiet refreshing, and in winters, it makes you revaluate your life decisions.
Because the beach is located away from the town, don’t expect it to get too crowded and you can always find yourself an exclusive spot on the beach.
People from the neighborhood tend to bring their dogs to the beach for a walk, so you do find a lot of playful creatures around the beach!
It’s the perfect place to roll out your beach towel, read a novel and just relax. For the more adventurous soul, Llandudno is an amazing spot to surf. The standard of surfing here is high and generally competitive. There are no shops around to rent gear but, if you can manage to bring your own gear, you can expect an amazing surf!
Derek Rielly at Red Bull describes the Ocean in the best way, he says “Water so cold it'll eat your marrow. But that tube into the quarter pipe? Profound!”
Regardless of whether you surf or not, the turquoise water and big granite boulders provide a perfect setting for an amazing beach day!
