A Weekend at Lake Powell
How to make the most of a weekend at Lake Powell
We took a family vacation to Lake Powell where we camped on the shores of Lone Rock Beach. It was so nice to be right on the water and the kids loved playing in the sand.
The lake stretches nearly 200 miles through Arizona and Utah, so there are so many incredible places to explore by boat.
The Labyrinth Slot Canyon was one of our favorite places to explore. It can only be reached by boat or kayak. Once you get there, the trail follows through a pink swirled sandstone canyon.
Rainbow Bridge is also worth a stop. It is the largest natural bridge in the world. There is a floating dock in the Forbidding Canyon where you can leave your boat and hike to the bridge.
La Gorce Arch is located not too far from Rainbow Bridge. It is a short hike up from the water to reach this cool natural arch.
Our kids loved speding an evening at the Sand Hill. They spent hours running down the massive dunes and playing in the sand. Next time we'll bring boogie boards or sleds to slide down the hill! You can find the Sand Hill near Lone Rock Beach.
While you’re in the area, be sure to take the short drive to Page where you’ll find Horseshoe Bend. The incredible beauty of this natural wonder will leave you speechless.
Lake Powell is one of the world’s premier boating destinations and we loved spending the weekend exploring this beautiful lake!
