Island Hopping in Siargao
The best islands to see around Siargao
No trip to Siargao is complete without a local island hopping tour to Naked, Guyam, and Daku Islands. Just a short boat ride away from the main island these three breath taking islands are even more incredible than the mesmerizing beaches on Siargao. These islands all differ from one another and can be toured in any order that you like- the day’s itinerary can be completely set up by you! Just keep in mind that both Guyam and Naked Island are best experienced at high tide.
Naked Island takes after its name and is completely stripped off any palm tree or structures. There is not much to do on this small sand bar in the middle of the ocean besides a few moments of sunbathing and snorkelling in the reef around.
Daku Island, the biggest and most developed of the trio, offers a great stop to buy lunch or cook any food you brought from the main land. Here you can relax in the shade of the coconut trees and explore the island.
Last but definitely not least is Guyam Island, which an idyllic slice of paradise you only see pictured in castaway movies. This small island can be walked around in less than 1 minute, but features palm trees, white sand beaches, and blue waters. Here you can play a pick up game of basketball with the locals and enjoy this paradise island.
To arrange a boat trip there is relatively easy- and there are two different options you can take. The first is an organized boat tour that includes a buffet lunch, which usually costs around $30 USD per person. The second option is to head down to the main harbour at General Luna and ask around dofr a boat man. We ended up hiring a private boat and driver for ourselves for 1500 PHP ($30 USD) for the day, and just brought our own water and snacks on board.
This island hopping tour was definitely one of the highlights on our trip to Siargao and cannot be missed!
