The Factory 380 - NYC

Our Review By Hero Traveler @sofiamog

First impression?

We were beyond excited to spend an afternoon with Warhol superfans and Factory 380 owners Scott Connelly and Cillian Fanning this summer. Located in New Yorks Gramercy we were lucky enough to see the ins and outs of this gem.

The Factory 380 aspires to the Pop Art movement that Andy Warhol championed, mixed with the ambiance of the '70s lounge scene.

We were welcomed by a collage of Warhol photographs and a back wall with a canvas for graffiti by street artist Jules Muck.

There’s also a surprise waiting for those who know what to do with a rotary phone at the back of the restaurant: a disco-style lounge named after the intoxicating Edie Sedgwick, Warhol’s muse.

What's the crowd like?

I would describe it as a mix of just about everyone. From regulars to the after-work crowd to just those walking by who are drawn in my the decor. The crowd was geared toward the younger crowd (21-40) with not many grandparents lingering by the bar.

Drink Review

Cocktails by Connor Myers have themed names like The Camera Adds 10 Lbs (gin, St. Germain, mint, cucumber) and I Wish I Could Paint Our Love (spicy tequila, watermelon juice, lime). The amazing Jamie Franklin was our bartender and energy and enthusiasm is an understatement! I don't think I've ever met a more personable person and he made me exciting and eager to try everything.

Should you eat as well?

Chef Javier Alvarez created a street food menu that includes pork dumplings, a “Brooklyn burger” and nuts like you’d find on the Coney Island Boardwalk. If you're on a diet this place probably isn't for you (what's a diet?). But if you are down to feast on some incredible New York City classics with a twist you will enjoy every bit of this menu.

Is it a YAY or NAY?

With hosted events like Drag brunch, Pancakes and prosecco, and boozy graffiti classes this is not the last time we will be hanging out in here! From the down to earth owners (hey the accent doesn't hurt either) to the eclectic staff we were thoroughly entertained and satisfied.

The Factory 380 is located at 380 Third Ave. between 27th and 28th streets. Hours are 4 p.m. to 4 a.m. on weekdays and 11 a.m.-4 a.m. on weekends.
