A day in Jodhpur, Rajasthan
Blue city
Started my day with a nice cup of coffee and eggs, and then to my first location across the Mehrangarh Fort, which is a cenotaph, serves as the cremation ground for the royal family of Marwar and is named Jaswant thada, It has a beautiful architecture and a very instagramable spot for some cultural shots like the turban making process, the traditional way.
On the way to Jaswant thada, one comes across the epic statue of Rao Jodha;
The entry tickets costs about 15 INR for Indians, and 30 INR (50 cents) for Foreigners.
On the way to the cenotaph (Jaswant Thada), One is welcomes by a local guy playing some classical music, which I couldn't resist but take a photo of.
After having spent almost half an hour inside Jaswant Thada and exploring the location, I came across two locals performing turban making process which I found absolutely interesting and got a creative shot of it on my gopro.
Later in the day I proceeded towards the iconic Mehrangarh fort to get a crazy view of whole of Jodhpur city also known as the blue city.
Mehrangarh or Mehran Fort, located in Jodhpur, Rajasthan, is one of the largest forts in India. Built in around 1459 by Rao Jodha, the fort is situated 410 feet above the city and is enclosed by imposing thick walls. Address: The Fort, Paota, Jodhpur, Rajasthan 342006
Hours: Monday - Sunday 9am–5pm
I got to witness such an epic sunset from the fort overlooking the blue painted neighbourhood of the city.
Perhaps one of the best locations to watch the sun set in this beautiful blue city.
