1. Make the Intention

2. Visit Prophet’s Mosque
Now that you are in the holy city of Medina, you must first pay your respects to the Holy Prophet (SAW). So, bathe, wear clean clothes, apply perfume, and set towards Masjid an-Nabwi.
Try to recite Darood Sharif consistently on your way to the mosque or while in it. It will yield you great rewards. The green dome of Masjid an-Nabwi will surely soothe your soul.
3. Use Bab-e-Jibril to Enter the Mosque
The Prophet’s Mosque has various doors. You should try to enter it through Bab-e-Jibril. If you can’t enter through this door, you should try to enter from Bab-us-Salam. You can enter from any nearby door if both doors are overcrowded or closed.
Step inside the mosque with your right foot first. Recite the praises of Allah Almighty and send blessings upon the Holy Prophet (SAW) as you enter this sacred mosque.
4. Offer Nafl
Every Muslim wants to visit Masjid an-Nabwi. So, you have been fortunate enough to enter this holy site. In that case, you must thank Allah Almighty by offering two rakaat Nafl prayers. Try to provide this prayer inside Riyad al-Jannah.
While in the sacred tomb of the Holy Prophet (SAW), pay your and your loved ones’ Salam by standing in front of the big hole at the left. This hole in the brass screens is in front of the face of Prophet Muhammad (SAW). The spot beside it is in front of the face of his close companion, Hazrat Abu Bakr (RA). The hole at the right is in front of the face of Hazrat Umar Farooq (RA).
5. Pay Your Respect to Prophet (SAW)'s Companions
After respectfully paying your Salam to the Holy Prophet (SAW), you must also pay your Salam to two of his closest companions. Stand in front of each hole and respectfully pay your regards.
6. Try to Offer Forty Prayers
It is Sunnah for men to offer forty prayers in the Prophet’s Mosque. This mosque was quite significant in Prophet Muhammad's (SAW) life. And now it is more significant because of the Prophet (SAW) resting inside it.
