Beautiful Rome ❤️

The roof tops of Rome

Whenever I told my friends and family we were headed for Rome, I heard every response you could imagine! Amazing I loved Rome! Ohhhh don't spend too long there! It’s a concrete jungle! Ohhhh Rome, my favourite!! It was so mixed that we’d set ourselves no expectations at all. And oh how we loved it!!! Yes it was busy, yes there were a billion tourists, but it was all so absolutely worth it.

At the Trevi fountain, with everyone else in Italy! At the Trevi fountain, with everyone else in Italy!

Whilst I had waited my whole life to go to the Trevi fountain, I must admit, it was a little overwhelming, and hard to enjoy the occasion with so many people there. However we ticked it off the list and kept walking. Rome is so easy to walk. In one day we saw the Pantheon, the Spanish Steps, the Trevi, the Campo dei fiori area, Largo di torre Argentina, and went shopping down Via del Corso and Piazza de Spagna.

The Colosseum The Colosseum

The Colosseum was magical. The history of it! It is so hard to comprehend. We loved it. When you finish with your tour guide, make sure you hang around for some time just to take it all in. Then get tickets to go around the Roman forum and Palatine hill. Absolutely worth it. And again, take your time there when the tour is ove. It’s incredible.

Make sure you walk around at night. Spend the extra money to jump queues. Don't eat in the main piazzas. Look up. And look down at the amazing blue stone paths. Go to Trastevere. Get a tour through the Vatican city, which includes St Peters. We also did a night tour of Rome, which was wonderful! Going through the churches, and seeing some underground remains, was just amazing. You can’t stop thinking of what they’re going to find under Rome in the future. I hope I’m around to see it!
