If you enjoy the feeling and freedom of sitting in the sun with your friends whilst you sip on an obligatory Aperol spritz just before tucking into some delicious street food then you must try Vinegar Yard.
It opened only a few weeks ago in April just ready for the much-loved spring/summer evenings and warm boozy weekends. It is an arty, funky area that boasts an array of food stands, drinks carts/bars and just to the side in the corner there is a collection of arts and crafts stalls including records, books, vintage clothing, plants, plus home decor that is all handcrafted by the seller.
To all the avid coffee lovers (like myself), the amazing Gentlemens Barristers are the coffee suppliers who have their own bar in the corner, you absolutely MUST try if you don’t fancy an alcoholic drink.
The vibe in London is great over the summer with loads of pop-ups appearing around the city and beer gardens, all ready to accommodate the working locals, foodies, travelers, and holiday goers who are looking for a great new place to try. It didn’t disappoint and it will be my go to over the next few months, I highly recommend as the atmosphere is nothing less than buzzing.
This new outdoor garden also has fantastic uninterrupted views of the Shard which makes a good photo backdrop. Admittedly when you’re following your maps and you arrive outside of the garden you wouldn’t think it was anything special (apart from being introduced to a large train carriage sculpture covered in ants..) but as soon as you walk in it is genuinely a hidden gem sat amongst the busy city.
I do have to point out that my absolute highlight of the experience was the Indian burger we tried from Baba G’s, it is directly on the right-hand side as you walk in. Below is the chicken tikka masala burger with an onion baji tucked in there, the photo is good but you have to try it to believe it.
