Wildlife Encounter at the Bronx Zoo
Help save the penguins but protect your toes!
The Bronx Zoo offers special Wildlife Encounters where you can get up close and personal with some of their (friendlier) animals. We saw the penguins and met some of the cast of Animal Planet’s “The Zoo”!
The Wildlife Encounters provide additional funds to help the Bronx Zoo in their conservation efforts.
We arrived shortly after the zoo opened on a Monday and had the place to ourselves. We didn't wait on a single line all day and saw almost every exhibit.
Frank, the male sea lion who was rescued from a salmon farm, barks consistently to warn the nearest male sea lion they need to stay away from his tank. The closest sea lion is in Central Park, while Frank is loud. I don't think his message is getting there.
The gorillas were incredible, their enclosure is huge!
