Pizza: the best three places in London
Where to find the real Italian pizza
Anywhere in the world, you find yourself I dare you not to find a pizzeria in the other a few miles. But how many of these bring real Italian pizza to the table? Oh yes do not kill me but I do not mean pizza for Domino pizza because as everyone knows well the made in Italy will never sign a pizza with pineapple or any other kind of fruit accompanied by ham.
Like any self-respecting expat after a day I tried to find something that comforted me and reminded me home so I started looking for the real Italian pizza in London!
There are hundreds of Italian pizzerias and restaurants but how many of them will make you experience real Italian cuisine? Today I want to suggest to you how you have understood from the title three places where you can enjoy an excellent Italian pizza.
The first place I want to warmly suggest is a place where you can find me at least once a week because it is a 100% Italian pizza and it is also one of the few made with a light dough that does not remain on the stomach, a rarity abroad for an Italian product. The place I'm talking about is Lievito, 273 Fulham Road, a pizza that brings the warmth of southern Italy to the grey London for the exactness of Calabria.
The second place is located in Streatham, his name is Azzurri, 32 Streatham High Street, a simple place without much pretence in line with the origins of one of the owners, Neapolitan. Low price, fresh ingredients and the classic Italian music in the background. A corner of the house at truly affordable prices by local standards. The service is friendly and the owners are very very helpful.
The last place I would like to recommend was a recent discovery as I had always heard of it but had never had a chance to try it. I was pleasantly surprised by L'antica Pizzeria di Michele, 199 Baker Street, an excellent pizza which is really too bad for the always full restaurant and the service they offer is not impeccable. Maybe it would take a little more organization but for the pizza you deserve a thumbs up.
