Milan, the city of fashion
How can we talk about Milan without mentioning Il Duomo. The 600 years in the making cathedral is one of the largest cathedrals in the world. It is one I’ve seen a million times yet can never get tired of. The Piazza del Duomo is the most visited square in Milan and serves as the center for a lot of the cities other attractions. One of those being the Vittorio Emanuele Gallery where some of the most prestigious and luxury designers in the world have set up shop.
Museo del Novecento or the 900 Museum is not well known but well worth a visit. It is situated in the Piazza Del Duomo and is a futuristic and contemporary museum where a lot of paintings and different forms of art are shown. I loved this experience and great trip for any art lover like myself. Best of all tickets are only 10 Euro! The main reason I highlight this museum however….it has huge glass windows that face the Duomo that, in my opinion, is art in itself.
Arco della Pace or the Arch of Peace Lots of cities feature a historic arch of peace. Paris and Rome to name a few. Milan has one too just in front of Castello Sforzesco (the iconic castle that belonged to the Italian monarchy of the north before Italy was unified).
The arch transmits glory, power, strength and during sunset when the sunlight passes through its gates and brightens everything around it with a golden light.
