A walking to the Corno alle Scale
Two days ago my boyfriend and I decided to go to the Corno alle Scale, a mountain in the Tuscan-Emilian Apennines, located in the territory of the municipality of Lizzano in Belvedere.
We started from Vidiciatico and with car we reached Cavone. Here we took the chairlift and arrived at Punta Sofia, one of the three peaks of the Corno alle Scale. Characterized by the unmistakable metal cross, it is the highest and most panoramic place of this excursion. We are at 1939 meters above sea level and the view spans 360 degrees between the provinces of Modena and Pistoia, straddling Emilia Romagna and Tuscany.
Around 2.30 pm we set off for Lake Scaffaiolo. Half of Modena and half Pistoia, it is 1775 meters above sea level, just below the top of Mount Cupolino.
So we sit at the wooden tables of the Ducal degli Abruzzi refuge to have a snack with a delicious blueberry cake. This is the oldest refuge in the Tuscan-Emilian Apennines.
At above 5.00 pm we take the way back and in an hour and a half we arrived at the car, ready to go home.
