Exploring the gems of Mt Fuji and Yamanakako

MT Fuji , Yamanakako

Mt Fuji Is a active volcano located just 100km away from Tokyo. We took a 2 day trip to Mt Fuji as it was something we felt we definitely had to experience.

We stayed in a place called Yamanakako. Which is a small village really close by Mt Fuji. The village itself is located along a Lake called, Lake Yamanakako, which Mt Fuji in all its pride and glory towering well above the lake. It’s an extremely quiet village which is perfect for an escape from the bustling city of Tokyo. We stayed at a place called Hatago Ichiya. It’s a small but super cozy hotel with one Japanese owner. You sleep like most Japanese do, a small thin looking mattress on the floor with covers and a pillow. A great experience. The owner also provides bikes, which are free of charge, and you can use them to cycle along the river, which I would definitely recommend you do as there is an amazing picnic spot at the end of the lake looking onto another lake and hill. We also went to a Japanese Onsen (Hot bath), which has, a picturesque view of Mt fjuji it is located a 20-minute walk from the accommodation. The best time to go is May to July when it's nice and warm although most nights can still be cold. Mt Fuji is a must see volcano whilst visiting japan.

The small village of Yamanakako has so much to offer. The small village of Yamanakako has so much to offer.
