Lunch At Sal De Riso
With renowned patissier Salvatore De Riso
The sky was overcast and our Amalfi Coast road trip had just begun. The first stop on the itinerary was the small village of Minori, just west of Maiori (yes, they have these kinds of names here!). After a turn the village appeared before us and my girlfriend had a flashback about a renowned pastry shop called “Sal De Riso”, named after its own patissier Salvatore De Riso. I had never heard of him, yet he’s one of Italy’s best and well known for some delicious and signature pastries.
By chance, he was hosting a masterclass inside his pastry shop, a lovely and cozy space that serves also as a restaurant. The restaurant serves a fantastic selection of pizzas, salads first and second courses. Due to the limited number of tables, we decided to reserve a spot for lunch. We couldn’t have had a better meal and everything was so perfect we were tempted to order more!
The place also offers a large choice of high-quality products made by Sal himself, like jams, biscuits, limoncello (lemon is the main ingredient and one of the symbols of the Coast) and other sweets.
You can also consume delicious pastries at the counter and take them away for a sweet snack later in the day during your visit in Amalfi’s Coast.
