The Most Romantic Island: Santorini

Santorini has a reputation of being one of the most magical islands in the world, and it is well deserved. This volcanic island is known around the world over for its serene sunsets, romantic evenings, and slow pace, making it the perfect place for honeymooners and vacationers seeking some serious R&R. Romantics should stay at the Grace Hotel in Imerovigli or Santo Maris in Oia. During the day, Santorini offers a range of great activities: visit the vibrant town of Fira for shopping, dine at the award-winning Argo restaurant, or enjoy a Michelin-starred culinary course at Selene restaurant. Those with an adventurous heart (or those who fear tiring of too much relaxation) need not fret, as Santorini has a number of activities to fulfill the urge for excitement. Our personal favorite was renting an ATV to drive around the island. If you’re feeling extra motivated, definitely take the opportunity and get up early enough to catch the sunrise over the Aegean Sea. Another highlight of our trip was cliff jumping at the St. Nicholas Church at Amoudi Bay - not something for the faint of heart, but not something to miss out on either! And of course the perfect finale to any day on the island, whether it was one filled with adventure or relaxation, is enjoying a glass of some wine made from local grapes while watching the famed Santorini sunset.
