My Favorite Island in the World!
September 2018 // Flores, Indonesia
Last september I went on a trip to the islands of the Komodo National Park and I had never seen anything like it! For those who don’t know, Komodo National Park is known mainly for its inhabitants – namly, the Komodo dragons! These animals are massive, and are extremely fast, powerful and honestly very deadly, however we of course want to see them for ourselves because lets face it, its not every day you get to see Dragons.
Anyway – In this National Park area, there are many other islands, and it must be the most unique and beautiful archipelago I have ever seen! From pink sand beaches, to the gorgeous volcanic mountains on the islands, to the perfectly blue waters and marine life! It has literally everything to be considered paradise!
Palau Padar is the Island I refer to as my favorite Island in the world, and I feel like it fully deserves that title. The reason why, is that I have never been anywhere before, that had the same impact on me emotionally. I was seriously in awe when I was standing at the viewpoints of this island, I actually felt like it was something that my mind had made up in a dream, words cannot describe the perfection that this island shows aesthetically.
It has several arched beaches that are all incredible, its surrounded by gorgeous blue waters, it is inhabited by deer who make the occasional curious appearance on the beach or near the short treks to the viewpoints. It honestly just has so much character, and I am sure you must agree with me with these photos!
I have been to so many Islands, but this one takes the prize! Best part is, if you somehow get bored of the sights here, you can head to other spots near by, including islands with pink sand beaches and crystal clear waters with great snorkeling, or head to a sandbar attached to an island, this place is unbelievable!
I highly encourage you to go see it for yourself!
There are plenty of tour operators out there who service these trips and they typically include spending a few days on a boat to get around the islands!
