There's more on Nusa Penida
Coastline Paradise
Most people know Nusa Penida because of Kelinking Beach; probably one of the most insta-famous spots of Indonesia. In our recent blog we gave more information about this beautiful place; it is definitely famous for a reason. However, Nusa Penida offers so much more than just this viewpoint. Expect white beaches and amazing cliff coastlines; viewpoints all over the place.
Broken Beach is another hotspot, close to Kelinking Beach, and therefore often part of the daytrips (which explains the why it's crowded all the time). The iconic coastline of this island, with huge cliffs and rock formations, shows some unique spots. Broken Beach is one of them.
Years of erosion formed an archway that looks like a bridge over the beautiful turquoise ocean water. Not sure if i’m being clear like this; it's hard to explain what this place is exactly, but the pictures will tell you enough!
Only a few hundred meters further along the coastline there is a naturally formed infinity pool between the rock formations. Be careful around here when the sea is wild, because the waves crash into the rocks. You will get very wet or just vanish all the way… We didn't see it with a quiet sea, but we definitely advise you to have a look!
The northern part of the island is not as known as the southern hotspots. It is not less beautiful though. Over here the coastline and white beaches are just as fantastic; maybe even more beautiful. “Diamond Beach” is one of the more famous beaches around here due to its photogenic little islands just outside the coast.
You'll get another angle of this place from the “Thousand island viewpoint” near Rumah Pohon Treehouses; really magical. Another beach to enjoy the quietness of this island is “Atuh beach”, just near Diamond beach, where there are same beanbags and bbq’s to truly make your day awesome.
To end this blog with a true highlight of our trip; snorkeling with manta ray’s. It is a touristic happening, but you just have to filter out all the drowning chinese. Focus on the mantra ray’s, and just admire their beauty.
