The Guinness Storehouse in Dublin
An absolute must when visiting Dublin
If you’re a Guinness lover then you absolutely must visit the Guinness Storehouse on your trip to Dublin. You will learn all about Guinness' rich history as well as learning all there is to know about how it is made plus what goes into making a perfect pint of Guinness.
As you walk through each floor you’ll be introduced with a different topic, guiding you simultaneously through The Guinness Story. From the brewing process to their advertising, which was my favourite part, seeing the various marketing campaigns, illustrations and mascots. It was not only interesting but had some great humour behind them! Following on to their transport methods to the famous Arthur Guinness story, where you learn about the man behind the black stuff himself. This was also a huge highlight of mine.
As you make your way up through the floors you’ll find bars along the way where you can get food and refreshments, including a bar where you can purchase a variety of different Guinness beverages. We decided to try a couple of Guinness bottles we hadn’t tried before! That way we could relax before we carried on.
As you reach the top you’re greeted with the Gravity Bar, this bar not only has some fantastic panoramic views across Dublin, night or day, but it also means you can claim your free perfectly poured pint of Guinness! With comfy seating and 360 views across the beautiful city, you can relax and enjoy your pint of black stuff (it really was one of the best pints of Guinness I’ve ever had!).
There is also a gift shop, so if like me you always need to take a keepsake back with you then go and have a browse! To this day I have my Saturday morning coffee out of my huge Guinness mug!
