Where to Have Coffee in Seattle

Our Favourite Speciality Coffee Shops in Seattle

1. Callus | 323 1st Ave S

Not just some of the best coffee you'll find, but one of the coolest interiors we've discovered so far. Callus wasn't originally on our list but as we walked past on our way to another shop, we couldn't help but go inside! We stayed for the next few hours drinking too much coffee and getting work done (thanks to good wifi and plenty of outlets). The barista loved talking about the different coffees they had on offer and took extra time to pour a Chemex instead of the normal V60 pour-over that they offer. The space is filled with large indoor plants, antiques, and other nice vintage touches. They also have some great muffins and cakes that are worth your time too!

2. Cherry Street Coffee House | 1223 E Cherry St

"Each of our locations create a unique space that is as diverse as the community it resides in." - Cherry Street Coffee House

Cherry Street Coffee House is no longer only found on Cherry Street and no two locations are the same. They've strived to create a unique space that complements the community that it resides in. With a homely feel, it was the perfect place to spend a whole afternoon chatting, meeting, or working. They also have a range of pastries, baked fresh every morning, as well as soups and sandwiches made to order. We tried the One and One, a macchiato, alongside the leftover espresso. It allows you to really enjoy the taste of the espresso before diving into the creamy macchiato. It was a great coffee shop and a must-visit if you're in Seattle.

3. Zeitgeist Coffee | 171 S Jackson St

"We fulfill a niche in the community to combine these three elements—atmosphere, art, and high-quality coffee in a unique way." - Zeitgeist Coffee

Serving up Illy coffee, surrounded by art-covered walls, Zeitgeist has become a local favourite. It's very nicely designed with plenty of space and aesthetic open red brick walls. It's often busy, but you'll probably find yourself a corner to enjoy your drink with the amount of seating they have. Even if you're not into coffee, they have a large choice of teas, juice, and even some beer on offer. As I mentioned, there's also lots to look at while you're inside with their gallery of local, fine art. You can check out the Current Artist they have on show here.
