Tegalalang Rice Terraces in Ubud might be the most famous but they aren’t the only rice terraces worth seeing in Bali. In fact, the island is awash with beautiful tiered landscapes and Sidemen’s fertile land has more than its fair share of the lush rolling rice fields
Most places where you will stay in Sidemen will have terrace views of rice fields stretching throughout the countryside that will tempt you to go on an adventurous trek through them. Many of the resorts and villas in Sidemen offer guests short rice terrace treks as a complementary morning activity before the day gets too hot. There are also options to go on longer guided hikes for a price depending on what you want to do. However, because Sidemen is quite cool throughout the day compared to other parts of Bali and you don’t necessarily need a guide to walk among the rice terraces.
Small communities of farmers proudly maintain these beautiful lands and these expansive rice terraces pretty much surround you and flank the roadsides at whichever turn you take. So if you want to go trekking through the rice terraces of Sidemen, just drive around and enjoy the picturesque views until you see a place to hop off on the side of the road to explore.
