Is Queenstown’s Fergburger Worth It?
The answer is simple: yes!
I have a few rules when I travel, and the biggest one is this: I never eat at any place I can eat back home. What’s the purpose of travel if you can’t eat like a local? On one of our last nights in New Zealand, we found our way to the famous store front of Fergburger. There was a line out the door, and the small eating area was packed
Alyssa wasn’t hungry, so she stayed back at our apartment. Ashley, Katie, and I decided to trust our gut (literally!) and fight the cold wait to try these well-known burgers. Normally, a line out the door is a good sign, right? This wasn’t even at the height of tourist season in Queenstown and from the sounds of those in the know, we were in for at least a 45-minute wait.
Once we finally made it into the doors—and started to thaw—we placed our orders and waited for our burgers and fries. It’s a pretty simple kind of place, nothing fancy or elaborate. We hovered in an area and waited to hopefully get a seat at a table before our food was served. It was standing room only! We lucked into a small area, and tucked ourselves into each other just minutes before we ate. We barely had time for a few small photo opportunities before digging into the burgers. They were just that good! Well worth the wait, and well worth our time to stop by Queenstown’s famous burger stop.
