Picture Sydney, along with the Harbour Bridge and famous Opera House, you probably know the fantastically inviting aerial photos of world famous Bondi Icebergs Club. This swimming pool carved into the rock face is an iconic Sydney institution and a must do for tourists and locals alike.
Situated conveniently at the south end of bustling Bondi, Icebergs has unrivalled panoramic views of the famous beach and Pacific Ocean. If you fancy a dip there’s both a shallow family-friendly splash pool and the main pool with lanes for more serious swimmers. The waves crash spectacularly in from the ocean, so it’s definitely a bracingand often rather chilly experience!
Even if you’re not a swimmer, it’s a great spot for sunbathing on the deck or down by one of the two pools or just simply watching the magnificent waves and the surfers at this iconic location.
Built in 1929, not much has changed in this historic club. Is has a strong tradition with its members of competitive swimming and maintains strict standards, requiring them to swim three Sundays out of four. Daily guest passes are readily available for visitors at an affordable price. The pool is well resourced with big, clean changing areas, showers and a cafe with a wide variety of snacks and small meal options.
