The Beacon Restaurant
Sag Harbor’s Sunset Paradise
The Beacon, located in Sag Harbor’s village with magnificent views of the bay, is a new American bistro that locals and visitors alike flock to for perfectly prepared local seafood, pasta dishes, and delectable desserts paired with a breathtaking sunset view.
Open seasonally, arrive early at 5:30pm to score a window seat or outdoor patio table for the best sunset views around. Be sure to have your camera ready! You also want to arrive early as The Beacon does not accept reservations. I would recommend arriving at 5pm, as it could get that busy, especially during Friday and Saturday evenings in the summer.
Every dish on the menu is considered to be a winner, though I would recommend the Crispy Fish Tacos or Summer Watermelon Salad with baby arugula. The entrée that seizes the dining experience is their Lobster Rigatoni with aged cheddar and roasted corn. Very satisfying, creamy, and one of the best pasta dishes on the East End. You can tell right away that it is crafted with the finest, local ingredients and is filled with generous amounts of lobster.
Dessert is not a course to be skipped at The Beacon. My favorite is the Beacon Vanilla Ice Cream Sandwich with vanilla ice cream and chocolate sauce, which is perfect to split amongst two to four people. Their Almond Cake with mascarpone cream is also a real treat. Come hungry and expect to dine for at least two hours.
