Borough Market

London’s Best Market

Borough Market

For the best selection of street food in London, you have to visit Borough Market. This sprawling market is located on London’s South Bank, near the London Bridge and Borough underground stations in the shadow of The Shard, one of London’s famous skyscrapers. Borough Market is one of the oldest markets in London, dating back to the 1100s! I personally think Borough Market is the best market in London, and I always recommend it to people visiting the UK capital.

Once you walk into the market, you’ll immediately notice all the sights and smells of the different food stalls. You can find almost any kind of cuisine in this market- from French to Ethiopian! I love wandering though the stalls, trying bites of everything! Last time I went, I started my day with a decadent caramel custard and honeycomb filled donut from Bread Ahead bakery.

I washed that down with a coffee from one of the local coffee stands, and then I walked through the seemingly never-ending aisles of the market, stopping to admire local produce, cheeses, and more. I grabbed some fresh raw oysters and tried raw sea urchin from one of the fishmongers, and then I enjoyed some meats and cheeses from a charcuterie stall! No matter your tastes, you’re sure to leave full and happy if you visit Borough Market! This is also a perfect place to go for a delicious an inexpensive lunch in London!
