Music City U.S.A.

Live music in Downtown Nashville!

Nashville is not dubbed “Music City USA” just because. The music culture here runs deep through the city’s heritage and it continues to diversify as the city expands. No matter which direction you come from, the thunderous country music will guide you to Broadway where the street is lined with bars and honky tonks. As a local, I will say that no matter what you do, you need to stop in Robert’s Western World. Robert’s is one of the bars that has made Broadway what it is today.

Robert’s is known as “the home of traditional country music” and upon entering during a pedal steel solo, I knew this to be true. I headed for the bar to grab a whiskey-ginger and enjoyed some classic country music accompanied by a stand-up bass player, fiddle, and the pedal steel guitar.

After you’ve seen Robert’s, there is nothing specific I can suggest; Broadway is the perfect place to head out and aimlessly roam. You are bound to find your way into another amazing bar with extremely talented musicians. There are also multiple bars on the street that have 3-4 stories all with the option to listen to live music and dance. Some even have rooftop patios. For example, Acme Feed and Seed on the north end is a great view of the river and Broadway. Tooties, on the south end, will give you a fantastic view from the opposite end of the street. Lastly, some of the bigger/newer bars will have more of a club scene, if you need a break from the country music and need to get some dancing in (not that you can’t dance to country music).
