Romancing Boracay
We checked in. Then we fell in love.
Boracay has just opened after 6 full months of recovery and rehab. So when it opened late last month, we jumped at the prospect of checking in at the newest resort in the island: Mövenpick Boracay.
The come-on: The exclusivity! It’s not in the cluttered Boat Station areas so you can have the beach front all to yourself. The pool area is the biggest in the island and bedecked with Instagrammable chairs and lounges. There’s lotsa food choices (it has 7 restaurants and 2 bars) so you won’t go hungry or feel deprived.
The nest: Doesn’t feel cloistered! It has modern designs and the suites have lavish living room and bathroom with couple sinks. All rooms has a balcony and offers views of the garden, pool, and the sea.
Don’t miss: The rejuvenating Sagay massage at the spa. I’m always in Boracay but this is the best massage I’ve ever gotten in the island. The attendant uses hot cowrie shells and oh-boy they feel relaxing on the back.
I love: the chocolate hour! Truffles and dark chocolate with citrus... There’s a chocolate hour everyday, before the sun sets. There’s also a plate in the room for some midnight loving.
