Praia Da Ursa. Portugals Most Beautiful
This place was actually recommended to be by a friend and was by far my favorite place and in my opinion the most beautiful. It is located in the Sintra district about an hour drive from Lisbon. The drive itself is another beautiful one. Once you reach the area you are surrounded by a beautiful view of water stretching to the horizon and a vast green landscape. The walk down to the beach is quite a steep somewhat difficult one but perfectly doable. Make sure to take in the scenery from above before taking the long descent down to the beach. Around 40% down you’ll have the option to take a left a hike up to a different vantage point. Take the left. I cant stress this more, you’ll get one of the best vantage points of the beach, but do be careful as the drop is around 50 meters so do not step too close to the edge. The aerial photo you see below of the person standing in front of the water was shot from that exact location. Once you get down to the beach take time to explore the location. It is quite a big beach and there is a lot to explore and see. We spent about a 2-3 hours just exploring the area and taking in the site. I would recommend to reach around 5-6pm when the tide is at its lowest and you also get to see the sunset. For the sunset I would recommend that you hike back up to the top around 80% of the way up and sit there. You’ll be able to see the beautiful beach with its majestic rock formation and also see the sun setting into the horizon. This place will definitely always have a special place in my memories.
