L&L La Sazón de Luigi

L&L, La Sazón de Luigi is located in the traditional neighborhood of El Clot, in the North East part of the city. It is a traditional Colombian bodega that serves food and everyday meals for nearby workers. The concept is simple: fast service and lots of high-calorie food. The restaurant is conveniently located, just behind “El Clot” Park and in front of La Gran Vía de Les Cortes Catalanes Av.

There are only eight tables - six inside and two outside. The minute you walk in, you get the Colombian vibe. Colorful décor, laughter, and a Colombian radio station playing in the background. The menu is pure Colombian: bandeja paisa, empanadas, different chicken rice, sausages, eggs, and again, calories. I tried just two of their dishes, I couldn't fit the third one!

The first one I tried was Empanadas de Carne. If you don’t know, this is a very common Latin American dish - a pastry “packet” filled with ground meat, vegetables, and spices. Then, a Picada, that’s just finger food. It contains a lot of different deep-fried food: pork, beef, patacones (green banana), sausage, potatoes, and tortillas. By then, I was totally full. So, if you’re in Barcelona and planning to travel to Colombia, this has to be the first stop of your journey.
