The Best Place for Backpackers-Tenerife

El Lagarto is an amazing backpacker hostel located in Northern Tenerife. It's the perfect place if you like natural places but also if you want to meet other like-minded young people also visiting Tenerife. It is located a bit far away (1h by bus) from big cities such as La Laguna. But on the other hand you will be in a place full of nature and away from overcrowded places.

The rooms are usually shared with other young backpackers. My personal experience was great, in the end, it was like having a big room full of friends. But there are also private rooms if you feel like you need more personal space!

The hostel has really good facilities such as a chill out area with a pool, nice communal dining area and a big living room with a lot of games!

Vitto, the owner, is an Italian guy and he is always around cracking "dad' jokes and making your stay super comfortable (He also makes great pancakes!).

Just 10 minutes from the hostel you will find La Barranquera. La Barranquera is a really small town with a lovely beach and some great natural pools. It's the best place to see the sunset with your Lagarto friends.

Last but not least the hostel usually organizes day trips to explore the island. With these trips, I explored all the natural places in Northern Tenerife. It's so nice because you will travel cheap, with friends and Vitto. He knows every spot on the island so he's the best tour guide!
