Hotel CC 🏨 Amsterdam 🇳🇱

Location, Location, Location

As both a solo traveler and a first-time visitor to Amsterdam, it was important to me to find a modern, affordable, and centrally-located hotel – ideally one with a touch of character. Too much to ask? I anticipated having to compromise on at least one of these asks, but the Hotel CC delivered across the board.

The Hotel CC is located in Amsterdam’s Centrum neighborhood on bustling Warmoesstraat, which I’ve since learned is among the oldest streets in Amsterdam. Warmoesstraat is a highly trafficked tourist thoroughfare with a variety of restaurants, bars, boutiques, affordable hotels, and coffee shops. What the street lacks in character, it more than makes up for with its a close proximity to just about everything that Amsterdam is known for. The Red Light District, cannabis shops, the main hub for canal boat tours, LGBT nightlife, plus museums and historic sites are all within a 10-minute walk.

The hotel doesn’t have much of anything in the way of facilities, but I found the 24-hour beverage and snack bar in the lobby extremely handy, as these types of items aren’t always as accessible on-demand in Europe as we’re accustomed to in the U.S.

I stayed in a Standard Single Room on the first floor with a single bed, a private bathroom, and modern decor. If you’re traveling as a couple or in a group, or if you’re the type of person that needs space to spread out, then this is not the room for you, but I absolutely loved it. Even the single bed had a cozy charm about it. Amenities included free WiFi, an in-room safe, a small desk, a mounted TV (that oddly doesn’t face the bed), in-room temperature control, and an instant coffee maker. The bathroom was small, but clean and sufficient.

My favorite part of my stay was definitely the view, directly on the water, overlooking the Damrak and the central hub for canal tour boats. I never grew tired of it.

Possibly my favorite video from the entire trip!

The Hotel CC is an excellent option for solo travelers, groups of friends, or possibly couples that seek a central location from which to explore Amsterdam’s party scene. I wouldn’t recommend it for seniors or families with young children.

I found the staff to be personable and friendly. My only complaint was with the lack of response to my pre-trip online inquiries, which I had to submit multiple times via email and over Facebook before eventually receiving a non-specific, non-helpful response from someone who addressed me as ‘Dear Madame.’ 😡
