What To Do in Amsterdam, Netherlands

One of Amsterdam’s many canals One of Amsterdam’s many canals

Amsterdam has got lots of things to offer, especially during winter time. Winter is my favorite time to be in Amsterdam, perhaps because lots of the trees are decorated with fairy lights. To be honest, one of my favorite things to do is to just wander around the city and absorb the culture and beauty of it all.

Still, if you’re more of a planner you could go and take a tour through the canals. There are so many different options that can be booked, from couple tours, to drinking tours, even party tours or nighttime tours. This is one of the best ways to really get to explore the city. For the prices, it’d be best to stop around the central station, where most of the canal boats depart from. Prices vary depending on the kind of tour you want and for how long. https://www.google.com/search?q=amsterdam+tours&rlz=1C5CHFA_enUS811US811&oq=amsterdam+tours+&aqs=chrome..69i57j69i60j69i61l2j0l2.3602j0j4&sourceid=chrome&ie=UTF-8

During wintertime you should. Go ice-skating in front of the Rijksmuseum (see photo), too. This really is a must do. Just behind the Rijksmuseum is one of my favorite canals of Amsterdam, the Spiegelgracht. You’ll get there by walking underneath the Rijksmuseum. If you want to take photos with the “I Amsterdam” famously placed in front of the Rijksmuseum, you should hurry! The sign will soon be removed since it was deemed ‘too individual’.
