Fužine

Fužine is a beautiful picturesque city in the mountainous part of Croatia. Located at 730 meters above sea level and only 30 minutes drive from the nearest coastline with a population of only 1500, Fužine is a great escape from busy coastal towns and hot summers. A continental Mediterranean climate offers you pleasant spring, summer and autumn and snowy, cold and long winters.

Comfortable accommodation in traditional wooden houses with steep roofs, hospitable locals, untouched nature and rich gastronomic offer are just some of Fužine's beauty.

Fuzine is characterised by the abundance of water. Today, there are three reservoirs of lakes: Bajer, Lepenica and Potkoš, which blend perfectly with the mountain landscape. They are rich in fish and a real bait for fishermen. There are sailing regattas, diving competitions, possible surfing, canoeing and boating on the lakes. The forests around Fužine are perfect for hunters because they are rich in wild venison.

Attractive pedestrian walkways, biking and hiking trails are also marked and some of the special attractions are horse riding, carriage rides or sightseeing by tourist train.

One of the peculiarities of Fužine that makes it unique in the world is the "Farewell to the Old Year" every December 31 at noon, which attracts more and more visitors from all over the world.
