Sustainable Huts in the South of France
by Nicolas Llerena
Last month, I escaped to a wooden hut at COUCOO CABANES Grands Cépages with my girlfriend for an entire day of rest. Located in Sorgues (southeast of France), this eco-friendly oasis of calm and peace offers a unique experience to their guests in the heart of nature.
Staying in a Coucoo Cabanes is participating in a new type of trip that will take you out of your daily life. Immerse yourself in nature with unique huts that sit on stilts above the water in the forest.
An eco-responsible concept founded two years ago in Sorgues (but there are others in France). The domain invites you to discover sustainable development differently! With a fully self-sufficient cabin designed by the Italian architect Marco Labit.
Our hut was "Cabane Spa Aquarelle," which floated above the lake. It measured at about 25 m2, with a large bed, a bathroom with all the essential comforts, and a Nordic bath on the terrace.
You can enjoy the sunset while taking your Nordic bath, fall asleep rocked by the water and the sound of nature, and wake up to a view of the lake. Oh and don't worry about your breakfast - it's included with the price and is delivered on a basket comprised of local and fresh produce and delivered directly to your door. We stayed inside in our bathrobes the entire time and enjoyed complete and total rest!
Forget your phone, and there is no TV either. Take a good book and relax.
Try all the meal baskets. They are worth it !"
