Taiwan's Mini Angkor Wat
Anping 安平 Tree House, Tainan, Taiwan
Spontaneous trips with your friends are the best trips. I came to Tainan for the second time with one of my friends. She was leaving Taiwan to go back to Canada for good and wanted to make one last trip before she left. This was a short goodbye trip before we went our separate ways. Since I had already been to Tainan before, Anping was one of the things I did not do when I was here.
Anping Tree House is considered to be Taiwan’s mini Angkor Wat. Many people are familiar with the Indiana Jones, Angkor Wat in Cambodia. Though I have never been to Cambodia, it has a similar feel and looks from pictures.
My friend and I came here because our former Chinese teacher recommended the class to come here to see the treehouse and get special Chinese brushes to practice our great Chinese skills if we ever got the chance.
It was a formerly abandoned warehouse building that was run by the Japanese. Nature and wildlife took over and the tree grew through the house over the years.
If you go to Tainan, Taiwan you should consider the Anping Tree Fort because it is incredible to see.
