First impression? We were visiting Bath for the weekend and stayed just around the corner so popped in for a few drinks on a Friday night and then again for lunch on Sunday. Lovely atmosphere, food was good and great selection of drinks. Staff really welcoming and helpful with the beer selection. This microbrewery holds brewery tours available at 12 pm and 6 pm daily ( tour tickets £7.50 to include a pint of ale).
Whats the crowd like? Mainly tourists there for the tour and the scenery. Which should be ok considering you will most likely be a tourist as well!
Drink Review There is a huge main bar with carefully chosen local and international craft beers on cask and keg. Excellent selection of beer, as you'd expect but nothing really outstanding as regards the drinking experience. A very pleasant place for a cold one.
The beers on offer were all delicious and to suit everyone’s taste. There were 6 on tap plus 2 kegs plus all the usual lagers for the modern drinker. Difficult to sample all of what was on offer but thankfully they do offer a “flight”. For the uninitiated, you get ⅓ rd pint of 3 beers of your choice which is an absolutely fantastic way of sampling the offerings.
Should you eat as well?
They have an open kitchen with charcoal spit and our smokehouse for smoking any foods we can think of. They had a great selection of vegan options on the menu which I didn't see in too many other pubs. We tried the cauli wings which were delicious. All the smoked meat was to die for so I would def get tipsy on brewskies and then have a bite to soak it all up.
Is it a YAY or NAY? The Bath Brewhouse was a worthy stop on our trip in the west. Good food and a nice ambiance inside. We did a brewery tour with the brewer max who gave us a detailed insight into how they make ales. Would recommend the tour and the brewpub in general!
